"IT’S A NIGHT THING FOR THE DAY THING” AT FOREST HILL"
“GOOGLE ON” (NEW)
I didn’t know a search engine could do that! Well, “Google On”! This short course is 5 weeks long. During that time, you will find out that Google is not just a search Engine anymore. The instructor is our IT person here at Forest Hill and he will give you more information in this short class than a lot of classes give in 8 weeks. This class will become very popular, register early. This course offers ILU’s.
GOLF NIGHT & DAY
How can that be? Golf at the new facility at John Prince Park will be under the lights as an instructor gives you some tips on the use of woods, irons and putting. The folks at John Prince Park are excited about becoming a part of Forest Hill Community Education. We are excited to be able to bring you a day thing at a “night thing.”
BALLROOM DANCING (NEW)
This course is for couples only. Whether you want to dance with your star or under the stars, this course is for you. This is a beginning course and will give you the needed confidence to step out on the dance floor and take a spin. This course will familiarize you with some of the beginning steps to many of the ballroom dances.
ZOO VOLUNTEER EDUCATION GUIDE
Adults and students who are eighteen years or older may register for a class which will be held at the zoo. The class will prepare you as a volunteer at the zoo to help with tours, and other educational programs. Students will learn about animal conservation and animal habitat, the history of zoos, public speaking and making presentations. Students will mentor with a worker at the zoo and become a Zoo Docent. Students must be friendly, outgoing and dependable. Students must also be T.B. negative and tested within the last year.
INTRO TO APPLES I LIFE (NEW)
This course will present you with basic skills in navigation I-Tunes, I-Photo, I-Web, I-Movie, Keynote (Presentations), and Pod Casting your own Web Sites. Students will have access to a Mac laptop. This class is sure to be full. Register early.
MOBILE ELECTRONICS This course is presented to the student as a self paced computer course that will give the learner the opportunity to do hands on in the lab. At the completion of this course you will be able to install car radios, navigation system, security systems, and basic electronic trouble shooting for automobiles. This course offers you ILU’s.
ILU’S (NEW)
International learning Units (©LERN)(ILU’s) are educational learning units or points which are calculated for classes, seminars and events participants who attend and pass tests, quizzes, and hands on learning with 80% one ILU for each cluster of five content items. Forest Hill Community High School will be offering ILU’s for our students and participants in several classes, please note the courses we are offering . Some businesses and organizations will accept ILU’s as well as CEU’s (Continuing Education Units) ILU’s will be kept by Forest Hill and awarded on certificates of completion. Employers and businesses are encouraged to accept ILU’s and receive more information from Lern.org.
