Ed2go.com/fhchs offers over 300 courses on line. These courses can be registered, paid and taken online. Students can take these courses from anyplace they can log on to the internet. The courses include: professional, special interest, and computer courses. The courses begin around the 20th of each month.

“GOOGLE ON”
I didn’t know a search engine could do that! Well, “Google On”! This short course is 5 weeks long. During that time, you will find out that Google is not just a search Engine anymore. The instructor is our IT person here at Forest Hill and he will give you more information in this short class than a lot of classes give in 8 weeks. This class will become very popular, register early. This course offers ILU’s.

ILU’s
International learning Units (©LERN)(ILU’s) are educational learning units or points which are calculated for classes, seminars and events participants who attend and pass tests, quizzes, and hands on learning with 80% one ILU for each cluster of five content items. Forest Hill Community High School will be offering ILU’s for our students and participants in several classes, please note the courses we are offering. Some businesses and organizations will accept ILU’s as well as CEU’s (Continuing Education Units) ILU’s will be kept by Forest Hill and awarded on certificates of completion. Employers and businesses are encouraged to accept ILU’s and receive more information from Lern.org.

INTRO TO APPLES iLIFE
This course will present you with basic skills in navigation iTunes, iPhoto, iWeb, iMovie, Keynote (Presentations), and Pod Casting your own Web Sites. Students will have access to a Mac laptop. This class is sure to be full. Register early.

INTRO QUICKBOOKS PRO VERSION 2008
This class is quick and complete. The course is the 2008 version lab pack. Students are given the basics of QuickBooks Pro. Previous students have included new business owners, as well as business personnel who have added a new version of QuickBooks Pro. Many students take this course for the information of utilizing QuickBooks Pro for home or office. This class is very popular and is offered 2 times during each term. We use the latest version of QuickBooks Pro we can get for a computer lab. The instructor has been teaching this course for 5 years. Register early. This course offers ILU’s (Course offered in Spanish also).

YOGA (NEW TEACHER)
We are proud to bring YOGA back to Forest Hill. We have hired a new teacher and this course will be 8 weeks. Students will be presented with breathing, meditations and different positions. This course is a physical workout. Bring your Yoga mat and towel. This class has always been popular when we have offered it.

ZOO VOLUNTEER EDUCATION GUIDE
Adults and students who are eighteen years or older may register for a class which will be held at the zoo. The class will prepare you as a volunteer at the zoo to help with tours, and other educational programs. Students will learn about animal conservation and animal habitat, the history of zoos, public speaking and making presentations. Students will mentor with a worker at the zoo and then become a Zoo Docent. Students must be friendly, outgoing and dependable. Students must also be T.B. negative and tested within the last year.
