COMPUTERS
Bookkeeping/Quickbooks
Introduction to QuickBooks accounting system for small businesses. Students will obtain working knowledge of debits, credits, entries to journals, posting to ledgers, accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliation, trial balance, financial statements, income statement, statement of capital.
Computer Beginning
Basic usage features common to all computer programs: keyboard, mouse, menus, tool bars, hands-on practice; handouts using word processing, spreadsheets, the Internet.
Computer for Kids 4-7
This exciting class will help your 4 - 7 year old with computer and keyboarding skills, thinking and problem-solving, early reading and writing skills, listening and concentration, teamwork and self-confidence. Each student will be using a computer. Each class is limited to 5 students and parents must remain in the classroom while the class is in session.
CRAFTS/HOBBIES
Cardmaking
Create beautiful handmade cards and scrapbook pages using a variety of stamping and papercrafting techniques.
Floral Design Level II
This class provides a wide variety of ideas for decorating your home with flowers. You will create an array of colorful designs used for weddings, parties, or for any special occasion. You will also gain insight into employment opportunities in the field of floral design.
Pottery & Ceramics
Enjoy an evening of fun and creativity! In this class you will learn how to handle clay, build different types of pots, plates, bowls, planters and other decorations for the house and gifts. Class space is limited so register early.
Sculpturing (All Levels)
Begin your creation in the first class! Work from a photo the instructor has or bring one of your own. You will work at your own pace, so all levels are welcome. Supply list
available when you sign up.
DANCE
Salsa
You will receive an introduction to the dance experience enjoyed by fans worldwide. Learn Latin dance in a non-threatening, relaxed and non-competitive environment. Students will become familiar with the basic footwork and steps, hand positions, and the importance of communicating with your partner on the dance floor. A partner is not required for this course.
EXERCISE/FITNESS
Aerobics
A personal trainer by profession, Lydia offers an intense workout of step choreography. Guaranteed to challenge your muscles and stamina. Beginners welcome.
Body Sculpting:
This body shaping class is designed to tone, strengthen and define your body using your own body weight and/or dumbbells. A breakdown of the proper way to isolate each muscle group is given in this workout. This is a head to toe workout of toning and strengthening. All fitness levels are welcome.
Meditation Workshop
Learn and practice different meditation techniques to help find the one that best suits you. If you already meditate you will find ways to improve. We will explore some of the research on the effects of meditation, the reasons for meditation and the history of meditation.
Pilates
The Pilates method is a sequence of exercises performed on the mat. This method is concentrates on the concepts of awareness, balance, breath, centering, concentration, control flowing movement and precision. Increase lung capacity, circulation, long lean muscles, and improved flexibility and posture.
Tai Chi and Tai Chi II
Tai Chi is a system of slow controlled movements, which will enhance posture, balance and flexibility of joints. The Tai Chi postures promote relaxation and muscle control that allow the chi energy to flow throughout the body. The exercises involve breathing, relaxing and focusing techniques.
Volleyball - Coed
Beginner/Intermediate Men and Women. Beginners will be on one net; Intermediate on another. Coached for beginners. Get a workout and meet some new people.
Yoga
Yoga is a "state of mind". It is not a religion. It is a wonderful school of patience, of calmness and of self-control. It is also an exercise, but exercise is one thing. How to exercise is something else. The exercises will be progressive, starting with the breathing and the basic postures. Start now working on body and mind!
MISCELLANOUS
Creative Writing (Memoir and Essay)
Learn effective story telling techniques from award winning author and playwright, Barbara Flores. Classes include lecture, writing exercises, class readings and weekly critiques of short (2-6 page) writing assignments.
How to Work in a Wealthy Home
What you will be expected to know, how to look, how to act and much more, in order to be successfully employed in a the home of a wealthy employer. This class will be helpful if you are new to this type of job, if you need more detailed skills, or if you would just like to learn to entertain in your own home with class and grace.
Secrets to Owning Your Own Home
Learn from a Realtor and a Loan Officer. Making the decision to own, understanding your credit score, mortgage/financing, finding the right home for you and your family.
7 Common Homebuying Mistakes
Learn what you need to know to become a qualified buyer. It is easy when you know what is required by lenders and their underwriters. Learn from someone with the expertise in what it takes to get a mortgage approved.
Reverse Mortgages
Learn how a Reverse Mortgage can help meet the financial needs of seniors age 62 and over. This class will explain how a reverse mortgage works, the differences between a traditional mortgage and a reverse mortgage, the qualification process, fees and costs, and the tax and financial considerations. Most importantly, this course explains the particular Reverse Mortgage that is insured by the Federal Housing Administration (FHA).
Wills, Trusts, and Finance
An attorney and an accountant have teamed up for this informative course. Some of the topics are: The pros and cons of wills, trusts and estate planning, at home budgeting, cash flow, recordkeeping, pension plans, saving for the future, taxes and mid-year planning.
