For the individual who would like to reduce his/her accent when speaking English. Improved pronunciation results in improved confidence.

082102 Country Line Dancing (Beginner) M 6:00 - 8:00 8
The Country Line Dancing course (no partner required) will cover Electric slide, Slappin Leather, Tush Push and others. So put on your dancin' boots and come join the fun.

082103 Beginning Guitar for Children (Ages 6 - 13) M 4:45 - 5:45 8
This class is similar to the beginning class for adults but is structured for children and teenagers.
Students will learn the basic fundamentals of playing the guitar. The course is designed for students
with either no knowledge or limited knowledge of playing the guitar. Classes will begin with learning basics chords and strumming patterns to gaining an understanding of the instrument, including music theory and an understanding of how to play various songs on the guitar. Each student is expected to bring a guitar to class. Please note that no amplifiers will be used if an electric guitar is brought to class. (Please arrange with teacher for additional recommended course materials. Students are responsible for basic supplies.)

082104 Basic Guitar I (Adults) M 5:55 - 6:55 8

(Intermediate Beginners) This course assumes that you have had some training in the basic techniques, chord positions, and strumming patterns. Those students who have had some training and knowledge of playing the guitar but still consider themselves as beginning guitar players are encouraged to take this class. The course will further examine basic techniques, music theory and fundamentals of guitar. Students will learn finger-picking and flat-picking styles from country to blues forms of music. Each student is expected to bring a guitar to class. Please note that no amplifiers will be used if an electric guitar is brought to class. (Please arrange with teacher for additional recommended course materials. Students are responsible for basic supplies).

082106 Golf (Beginners) am session only M 9:00-10:30AM 6
This course is designed for beginners. The six essentials of good golf shall be emphasized: grip, stance, posture, alignment, ball position and swing. We limit class size to 10 golfers, so that the instructor may give individual attention to each student. NOTE: Additional fees required. AM Session Only!

Golf classes are held at the WPB Golf Course.

This course is designed for beginners. The six essentials of good golf shall be emphasized: grip, stance, posture, alignment, ball position and swing. We limit class size to 10 golfers so that the instructor may give individual attention to each student.

082108 Learn How to Play the Five String Banjo M 8:00 - 9:00 8
Students will learn how to play the five-string banjo through the introduction of bluegrass music and the Scruggs style of banjo picking. Others styles (Don Reno, Melodic, etc.) will also be examined. Students will learn basic three finger roll patterns, chord structure, back-up techniques and basic songs. In addition, students will learn how to perform and accompany the guitar in both lead and back-up techniques. This class will also focus on the fundamentals of music theory. The student is expected to bring a banjo to class. (Please arrange with the teacher for additional recommended course materials. Students are responsible for basic supplies).

082109 Pilates & Yoga M & W 5:45 - 6:45 10
This class will combine Pilates, yoga and strength training. Pilates will help to lengthen muscles, improve posture, prevent injuries and improve flexibility. Yoga creates balance in the body through developing strength and flexibility. Strength training benefits arms and legs while using weights and bands. All of these exercises are fun, relieve stress and can be challenging.
NOTE: Bring a towel, bottled water and a big smile. Wear comfort clothing easy to move in and socks for your feet. Sometimes the room is very COOL!!!!
Optional: Yoga mat and small pillow

082110 Tai Chi (for Body, Mind & Spirit) M & W 6:45 - 8:15 8
Tai Chi characterized by slow, gentle motions, controlled breathing techniques and mental involvement in the activity. It seeks to achieve harmony between the body, mind and spirit and harmony between the individual and the universe. The slow and graceful movements enhance the student's balance, muscle control, flexibility and mental concentration. NOTE: Wear comfortable clothing! Sometimes the room is very cool so bring a sweater.

082111 Substitute Teacher Training (April 28 & 30) M & W 6:00 - 9:00 2
PBGCHS will offer two-evening classes on how to be a better substitute teacher. Classes offer real world examples of how to positively manage and discipline students, and how to survive in a school setting.

082201 Aerobics (low impact) T & Th 5:30 - 6:30 10
The class will warm up with gentle stretching, 30 minutes low impact aerobics: including fun, easy to follow routines, muscle toning, and strengthening using weights, floor work, and a cool down finale with more stretching.
NOTE: Bring hand weights (size-personal preference), mat, towel, bottled water and a big smile.

082202 Ballroom Dancing (Couples Only) T 7:00 - 9:00 8
Ballroom dancing provides instruction in American Ballroom style dancing with at least three variations in Foxtrot, Rumba, Waltz, Tango, Swing, and Cha-Cha. The primary objectives of this course are for couples to be comfortable on the dance floor and to participate in Ballroom Style Dancing. NOTE: Couples Only.

082203 Country Line Dancing (Couples Only) T 6:00 - 8:00 8
A couples version of our popular Country Line Dancing Class. Couples will learn the latest dances while having fun.

082204 French (Beginner) T 6:30 - 8:00 8
The French class is designed for individuals who need practical "Survival French" skills necessary for business or travel. Emphasis is on conversation, while pronunciation, basic grammar rules, vocabulary and irregular (but common) verbs will be included.

082205 Intro to Beading T 6:30 - 8:00 6
Learn basic and intermediate techniques of jewelry making and create a fashionable set of earrings, bracelet and necklace in Sterling and Semi-Precious Gemstones. The class will finish off with a multi-strand cuff bracelet of dazzling Swarovski crystals. Supply fee of $50 includes all supplies needed for class projects but does NOT include tools.

082206 Italian (Beginners) T 6:00 - 7:30 8
The Italian Beginning class aims to present the fundamentals to students who have had no prior knowledge of the language. Emphasis will be on pronunciation, basic grammar rules and vocabulary. Book is required.

082207 Italian (Intermediate) T 7:30 - 9:00 8
The Italian Intermediate class is a continuation of the beginning class. Book is required.

082208 Microsoft Access (Beginner) T 6:00 - 8:30 8
Microsoft Access is a database program designed to enter, store and retrieve data through the use of queries, forms & reports. This course will train you on the use of the program and also cover basic concepts of effective database design.

082209 Piano Keyboarding (Beginners Ages 5-12) T 5:30 - 6:30 8
This class is aimed at children who have never played piano or who have played very little. This class will include the basic introduction to piano/keyboard, with emphasis on learning note reading, chords, scales, time/key signatures, rhythm and more. Materials needed: Full finger keyboard. Instructor will provide instructional beginners manual that maybe purchased at $15 each. Class sizes are limited.

082212 Pilates/Strength Conditioning T & TH 5:45 - 6:45 10
We will concentrate on Pilates which strengthens the "powerhouse" (abdominal muscles) by using the buttocks and inner & outer thighs. Strengthening will be done by using hand weights and tubing.

082213 QI-GONG (Healing Motion) T 6:30 - 8:00 8
QI-GONG is a self-healing art that combines movement and meditation. Visualizations are employed to enhance the mind/body connection and assist healing.

The Introduction to Computers program familiarizes the student with computer hardware (equipment), applications software programs) and the basic windows systems. Students who successfully complete this program of study will be able to assimilate fundamental knowledge about computers hardware and its set-up and software programs in word processing and spreadsheets.

082307 MS Excel 2002 W 6:00 - 9:00 8
The introduction to Microsoft Excel 2002 course outlines the use of spreadsheets, file creation, data entry, editing and formatting worksheets using formulas, charts wizards.

082308 Unique Jewelry Wire Wrapping W 6:00 - 8:00 8
Create gorgeous drop or chandelier earrings, fun wired necklaces and bracelets, and unique drop pendants in this "beyond the basics" class. Express yourself using silver, gold, crystals, glass or gemstones. Material and supply list will be available at the first class. Class sizes are limited.

082401 Basic Cake Decorating R 6:00 - 8:00 8
Learn basic decorating tips for beautiful birthday cakes, cupcakes or surprise events. Any cupcake can look like a picture with the most simplest decorations. Just get some icing and let's begin to create a masterpiece. Note: a supply list is available upon registering.

082402 Beginning Belly Dancing R 7:00 - 8:30 8
Learn to find, identify and control individual muscles of the abdomen, torso, hip, back, and arms, while learning to increase your flexibility, balance and coordination. You will learn how to dance using various props, such as veil, finger cymbals, cane and sword, along with being able to identify and dance to various Arabic music.

082403 Candle, Soap, and Cream & Lotion Making R 6:00 - 8:30 8
The course will begin with the Crafting of melt & pour soap and progress to the making of "True Soap" using traditional Cold Process methods and Hot Process Liquid Soap. Focus will then shift to lotion and cream making using common and luxury oils. Finally, students will learn to create various containers, votive, and pillar candles using soy and beeswax.

082404 Floral Design & Arrangements R 7:00 - 9:00 8
Floral Arranging Design is a well thought-out program to enable the attendees to learn the Art of Creating and designing Floral Arrangements. It teaches color coordinating, flower types, different shapes, and much more and it is a lot of fun! A certificate will be presented upon completion of course. Additional fees are required.

082405 Intermediate Computers R 6:00 - 8:30 8
A follow up course to our popular Introduction to Computer class. Students will further explore using Microsoft Office Software and other commonly used applications.

Learn to communicate and put in practice Spanish in every day situations.

082407 Scrapbooking (Beginners) R 6:00 - 8:00 8
Time, money, space, creativity these are some of the barriers that keep people from preserving their precious life memories in scrapbooks. This class will offer the basics of album making in a fun, social environment. Students will learn techniques for organizing photos, how to create title pages, borders, journal boxes; fun ways to use pens and design rulers plus how to preserve their precious memories through the wonderful and fulfilling activity of scrap booking.
