102100 Tai Chi, Introduction (Mon&Wed) MW 7:00-8:00pm 8 $58.00

Teacher: Kelly

This class is a basic introduction to the ancient Yang style Chinese art of Tai Chi Chuan. Classes

are designed to explore the benefits of Tai Chi in developing a low impact muscular and skeletal

exercise routine, while improving balance, surefootedness, cardio function and breathing techniques. This course is very diverse and can benefit anyone at any level. Wear comfortable clothing.

See Tai Chi Introduction description. This class is for the more experienced student. Must have taken introduction to Tai Chi before taking this class.

 

102103 Computers - Intermediate M 7:00-9:00pm 8 $58.00

Teacher: Finkelstein

The course is an intermediate presentation of Windows 2000 and XP that follows the "Intro to

Computers" windows” program. A prior knowledge of basic computer operations is required. The

classes will include lectures, demonstrations and hands on operations. Topic questions are

encouraged throughout the class.

A review of basics such as cut-copy-paste, menus, installing programs, etc. will be given during the

first session and as required during the course. Connecting your computer, peripheral equipment,

making simple repairs and upgrades will be discussed.

The advanced use of word processors, program tool bars, digital photography, scanning, desktop

properties (wallpaper, screen savers, sound), Internet tricks, downloading and recovery will also be

presented.

 

102104 Gourmet Cooking w/Chef Lucas M 6:30-9:30pm 6 $64.00

Teacher: Lucas

Gourmet cooking with Catherine Lucas will feature French and Italian techniques and safety will be

stressed along with pasta making, classic sauces, seafood, meats, soups and seasonal vegetables.

Pastry and bread techniques will be included. A $45.00 fee for food will be collected on the first night of class for the six week course. Students should bring an apron and a dish towel and arrive on time for class.

It doesn't matter what you exercise level is, the beginner class will start out slow and will intensify

throughout the eight weeks. There will be lots of running, both endurance runs and sprints.

Everything will be done at each individual's level. My job is motivate you to push beyond what you

think you can do. Nothing is impossible and it is my job to show you that when you stretch your

limits, you will feel incredible both physically and emotionally. Please wear sneakers, workout

clothing, bring water and a towel.

This class is designed for those who have either already taken my boot camp class and have excelled to the point of needing a more challenging workout, and/or are currently working out on their own and feel they are physically in shape. Teacher: Wang

Student will learn Chinese style cooking with a wok. They will be divided into groups and be

introduced to various Chinese dishes and flavors. They will learn to cook delicious dishes using

oriental vegetables and simple ingredients. Each class will include the process of preparation of

ingredients, the mixing of flavors and the stir fry method of cooking. At the end of each class the

students get to enjoy the results of their own efforts. Bring an apron and towel. Additional money for food will be collected.

This 8 week course is ideal for beginning students who want to learn the classical Hatha yoga

postures that will develop flexibility, strength, and concentration. Each class gives the student a safe way to enter, hold, and release each posture; it includes a few breathing techniques to relax the body and focus the mind; and a short period of relaxation to absorb the benefits of the class. Please bring a yoga mat, towel and small cushion. Arrive at least 5 minutes early. Wear comfortable clothing. NO

Designed for students who already have knowledge of basic grammar (genders, nouns, and verb

tenses) and who want to increase their conversational skills. Focus will be on vocabulary and

conversation through role playing real life situations. This is an introduction course. No previous Photoshop experience necessary. Basic computer skills will be necessary before entering the class. Students will cover basics of Digital Photography,

Picture file types, and file sizes. Over the course we will go through the tool bar and focus on how to crop and edit photos in Photoshop. Photoshop 7.0 and Photoshop CS3 will be used. Please bring a USB storage device such as a flash, or thumb drive.

Content includes, stress reduction techniques, recognizing our

"HOT BUTTONS," understanding personality style differences,

and skills for responding to other people's anger.

conflicts.

Various other matters are also addressed.

This 3- hour experience begins with an orientation regarding what regressions are all about.

Participants will do a past life regression, followed by a period of open discussion to share what was

An introduction to obedience training for puppies ages 3-6mos. There are six - 45 minute sessions.

Sessions cover how to use equipment (lead and collar) properly, how to correct properly and different commands. Information covered is as follows: corrections, heel (with practice exercises) sit, come, and down. Classes emphasize problem prevention. NO DOGS FIRST NIGHT. First class will be in the conference Room in the Main Office. PLEASE BRING SHOT RECORDS

Basic obedience classes for all dogs over the age of 6 months. There is 8-1hour sessions.

The course is an introduction to the basic skills necessary for understanding and operating today's

computers. No prior knowledge of computer operation is required. Windows is explained and

assigned to his or her own computer and will learn to use keyboard and mouse techniques.

Students will learn basic techniques necessary to develop realism in your drawings and paintings.

Items covered in this course include: the theory of light and shade, proportion, composition and

perspective. Students will be able to work in the painting medium of their own choice: pastels,

acrylics, watercolors, or oils. You will need to purchase your own materials for this class. Teacher

will provide a materials list.
